Human Smuggling Attempt Thwarted by Zapata Border Patrol Station Agents (LZT)!

Last week, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) collaborated with Zapata Station Border Patrol agents to stop a human smuggling attempt involving a box truck. The vehicle was located near San Ygancio, Texas and the agents conducted a stop which revealed a human smuggling attempt in progress. A total of 55 illegal aliens were found hiding in various areas of the box truck’s cargo compartment, including a false wall located at the rear. The aliens were charged with 8 USC 1325, Illegal Entry, which carries a fine of $5000.00 and maximum sentence of 6 months in jail. The case was turned over to HSI for further investigation.
