Laredo Border Patrol Agents Arrest MS-13 Gang Member With Prior Murder Conviction
LAREDO, TEXAS – Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Border Patrol station arrested an MS-13 gang member in Laredo, Texas.
On May 11, 2019, Border Patrol agents responded to a report of an illegal alien near a local orphanage in South Laredo. Agents there apprehended a Salvadorian national who freely admitted to having ties to the dangerous Mara Salvatrucha gang (MS-13).
The illegal alien further claimed he was convicted of murder in his home country of El Salvador. The illegal alien was transported to the Border Patrol Station and was processed for Removal.
As of this month, Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents have arrested 45 individuals with ties to dangerous criminal gangs.
For quite some time, the NATIONAL BORDER PATROL COUNCIL (NBPC) has been sounding the alarm on the dangerous criminals that are coming across our borders and the negative effects it has on American communities.
“Many of the illegal aliens entering the US illegally include MS-13 gang members and illegal aliens with criminal histories to include murder, kidnapping and rape,” said Hector Garza, a Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agent and Vice President of National Border Patrol Council.
“MS-13 is a very dangerous gang that has been infiltrating many communities across the US,” Garza continued. “Border Patrol agents arrest numerous dangerous criminals on a daily basis, unfortunately just as many evade apprehension and successfully enter our country illegally. These dangerous criminals will then remain in the United States and commit very serious crimes in our communities.”
“We need to ensure that we have physical barriers in strategic locations along the border, adequate Border Patrol manpower, infrastructure and technology in order to secure the border,” Garza concluded.
MS-13 is a transnational gang that has brought violence, fear, and suffering to American communities. MS-13, short for Mara Salvatrucha, commits shocking acts of violence to instill fear, including machete attacks, executions, gang rape, human trafficking, and more. In their motto, the MS-13 make clear their goal is to “kill, rape, control.” The gang has more than 10,000 members in the United States spreading violence and suffering.
